A family film. Or rather: of one of my families.
That of my father's second marriage, to Valentina, and of Simone,
their son, my brother, a 8-year-old child on the autistic spectrum.
A film made up of trips and holidays, above all, because those are the occasions in which my brother Pepi and I hang out with the three of them.
A film that on the one hand is the trace of my relationship with them,
an observation that learns to become participation, like the gaze of a tourist
who tries to enter the active life of a family unit that does not entirely belong to her.
And on the other hand, to understand how a group of people who live with neurodiversity on a daily basis live, beyond the rhetoric about autism.
